New to Instagram? Welcome to the party 🎉

With changes coming thick and fast to social media channels it’s worth remembering you need a mix of content on each platform and to keep every platform active.

We try and keep our eggs in various baskets and love posting over all the various platforms. One of our favourites is Instagram, here are a few tips to get you started or to keep you on top if you’re already a keen ‘grammer’.

Use Instagram carousel style posts to show off your products While this Instagram feature has been around for quite some time, if you haven’t heard of Instagram carousel post as yet get ready to have your mind blown. Whether you’re launching a new winter coat collection or a beauty business, the ability to share multiple product photos or videos in a single post is excellent for driving interest and, ultimately, sales.

Here’s how to add a carousel post to your feed:

⚫️ Tap the plus icon at the bottom of the screen to upload a photo or video ⚫️ To add multiple images tap the icon (that says “select multiple”) in the bottom right-hand corner. ⚫️ Tip for your business: use a mixture of videos and photos to increase the time spent on your post, effectively increasing engagement times.

Take polls in your Stories Use the interactive poll sticker in Instagram Stories that lets you ask questions and see results from your followers as they vote. Here’s how to do it:

⚫️ Take a photo or video for your story, select the “poll” sticker and place it anywhere ⚫️ Write out your own question and customize the poll choices

Save your Stories with the ‘Highlights’ feature Gone are the days where your Instagram stories disappeared after 24 hours! Now you have the ability to save a permanent selection of Instagram stories on your profile. Here’s how to do it:

⚫️ Tap the “New” circle on the far left in your profile page. ⚫️ Choose any stories from your archive Select a cover for your highlight and give it a name. ⚫️ Once you’re done, your highlight will appear as a circle on your profile that plays as a stand-alone story when someone taps it.
