Men & Women's Favourite Colours for Website Design
How did you choose the colours for your website design? A recent project in website design in Aberystwyth involved a fair amount of discussion around picking the right colour palette for our client. Does red = passion and yellow = happiness? We think all that matters is what colours people actually like not necessarily their supposed meaning.
A recent survey of 230 respondents by Joe Hallock had the following findings.
Blue stands out as being very popular across both genders. Purple however was a big hit for women but a fifth of men saying it was their least favourite.
Our advice would be to avoid brown (which our project of website design in Aberystwyth did) unless you're feeling courageous, blue is a safe bet. But if your target audience is women you might want to consider purple. Do some A/B testing and experiment a little.
